Being Aware of Natural Causes of Global Warming

Posted by admin on May 29, 2012 in Global Warming with 15 Comments

Many people believe that global warming is caused solely by the human beings that are on the planet.  It may be surprising to know that global warming is also a naturally occurring event.  It can easily be argued that whatever global warming occurs naturally on the planet is a fraction of what humans are capable of contributing.

The human causes of global warming have been occurring for many years.  The various methods in which humans contribute to global warming include everything from driving cars to simply breathing.  Natural causes of global warming can be on a much larger scale that could be from sources outside of our planet.  Whether the cause is natural or human, global warming is a serious problem that everyone should be aware of.

Different Natural Causes Of Global Warming

One natural cause of global warming involves the sun.  Overtime explosions are generated on the surface of the sun and the impact is felt all the way back on Earth.  The impact comes in the form of higher temperatures which directly affect global warming.  These eruptions occur quite normally on the sun and the planet can be regularly subjected to the increased temperatures that result.

As both the Sun and the Earth orbit there are certain times that the two come closer to one another.  When this happens it is normal to see an increase in temperatures on the planet.  This is a great example of a natural cause of Global Warming. There is nothing we can actually do to prevent this from happening as it is part of the natural course of the universe.

Earth has numerous volcanoes that litter its surface.  Some actively are erupting while many others sit dormant waiting for their next opportunity to unleash their fury.  When these volcanoes do erupt they send numerous gases, ash, and smoke into the atmosphere of the planet.  As this happens the temperatures will slowly decrease.  This is because the sunlight that would typically shine in the area is shielded by the smoke released by the volcano.  Once the effects of the volcano have subsided the planet will naturally warm itself back up.

Any change that might occur in the planets ocean currents can effect global warming as well.  It is thought that these changes in the current can be influenced by the sun.  Depending on the location and the degree of the change in the ocean current, temperatures can increase dramatically which contributes to global warming.

Are Al Bore followers and Global Warming Enthusiasts aware that there is dramatic climate change every 20,000?
My point is even if global warming was true there could very well be a NATURAL cause for it.
I hate it when yahoo puts things in the wrong order. :(
    Zal-dont discuss your personal needs.
years? For example every 20,000 years there is a wobble in the earth that shifts the yearly monsoon up and causes the Sahara Desert to become the most inhospitable place in the world. Or if it is already a desert the wobble would shift the monsoon down over the desert and make the Sahara green and ideal for agriculture.

THings shift and change over time.
We are due for the next Sahara shift in about 13,000 years.
thE change over the Sahara occurs rapidly in oNly a short 200 yEars.

You had better hope that both do not occur at the same time in my opinion.

Sure, but human contribution has still not been proved or disproved. Al Gore is just a greedy capitalist monger.

Of there a natural cyclical component to warming — NO ONE denies this. The problem is that WE’RE MAKING IT WORSE, and our civilization will be SEVERELY AFFECTED by rising sea levels, drought, animal/fish extinction, and so on.

Once again, you’re trying incredibly hard to MISS THE POINT.

I dont think polar procession has much to do with climate changes on a 100 year scale, I dont think its man made CO2 levels entirely either. Clearly scientists dont have it nailed down either considering their model and the reality of observed temprature dont coincide.

Yes, let’s ignore all of this scientific evidence ’cause it MIGHT be caused by a natural occurrence. Let’s forget about the fact that we could be exacerbating the situation beyond mother nature’s control.

Most scientists are in agreement that the only plausible cause of the recent unprecedented global warming is anthropogenic. Seems you’re not aware of this so you need to do more research

It takes a particularly selfish mindset – not to mention a particularly ignorant attitude towards the nature of scientific evidence – to want to risk waiting until it’s too late before attempting to stop the earth from becoming inhospitable for our children

You must be one of those American muppets who thinks paying more mitigates the damage caused. Oh dear

You are right, climates do change. But the rate of change we are seeing is unprecedented, much faster than any other change in the weather we have witnessed. In 2050 sea levels WILL be 2cm higher and New York, Amsterdam, London and plenty of other cities and countries will not exist. You will not believe this, but it will be too late when you do.

How far are we away from world war two?
Is it not only 60 + years away?
Then why the sudden change in climate changes?

I do not believe that it is possible to say how much climate change is caused by human activity and how much is caused by non-human factors.

I am worried that that the US government is going to give lots of money to Africa and not to Central and South America.
I hope that this is not a slave- guilt trip thing, where all the money goes to a wee village in the West of Kenya!
