Is Renewable Energy a Partisan Issue, one that Democrats should like and Republicans should reject?

Posted by admin on June 30, 2012 in Renewable Energy with 12 Comments

Seems like this is the case. Why would Republicans act like Renewable Energy is bad? Is it because the Republican Party (and Democrats too) are serving the Petroleum & Nuclear Industries, because those industries are financing their campaigns? Why would you approach Renewable Energy like it is bad out of some displaced loyalty to your party? Have you ever really investigated RE for yourself?

Republicans feed their Big Oil Billionaires first – this is their only real rule. The rest of their story is bullsh*t.

I think all energies should sink or swim on their own economic merits.
No subsidies of any kind, for anybody.
    Let the free market decide.

    No.

The role of alternative energy in today’s economy is a partisan issue.

Republicans view it as a future technology that should be encouraged, but not relied upon.

Democrats view it as a necessity, and want it used heavily by any means necessary, including making current energy far more expensive.

Everything is Partisan to Republicans. They will vote against anything a democrat vote for. How else can you explain how Mit Romney can be against the health care bill when it is almost identical to the one he put into place in the state of Massachusetts.

Solar is 10x less effective in providing energy then fossil fuels

The only way they prosper at all is by government propping them up

The amount of materials needed to make solar panels, wind turbines uses traditional energy sources

Renewables is a pipe dream for 25 years but the owners of solar, wind, tide, etc are all big time liberals

I don’t think the Republican party is against truly renewable energy at all. The issue is, when these "renewable energy" bills are introduced, they are loaded down with earmarks and pork barrel spending. The bills don’t get passed because the Republicans are against renewable energy, its because they are loaded down with so much junk that is in no way related to renewable energy.

I saw a show on TV about a school who purchased solar electric energy the cost 2, million dollars it would save them 15000.00 a year. Now you do the figures that means the system would have to last 133 years to pay for its self. I don’t think you or i will be around 133 years from now but you may still be alive when the system fails and needs replacing. Just pointing out the facts.

Wind power 2 million a tower. Must be backed up by coal, oil, or gas because it can not produce enough power all the time to be Constance. You do the math. Your tax dollars are making someone rich so tell me who that is.

At the current rate of consumption, there is no more cost effective source of energy than hydrocarbons. Whether petroleum is renewable is now debatable. Look up "abiotic oil", or "inorganic oil". It is the Democrats that have politicized it by taxing the living %^*# out of it, trying to force us into some kind of "green" dream world where we would all be stuck with four LED lights in our house made of recycled paper, and an 8" LCD tv, and no climate control, and driving cars you could pick up and put in a briefcase, but cost $50,000 so the public unions can have their promised pensions.

Because the renewable energy that Democrats are pushing for are not going to cut it! Sorry but it’s the truth. Democrats refuse to go with nuclear and even refuse to place their choices of alternative energies in certain areas due to cosmetic appeal. So spare me! The democrats are doing it simply for political posturing since they have turned down enough alternative energies.

i love renewable energy, but i disagree with the government not allowing the use of our natural resorces by our own people. we have large oil reserves in the US but, the obama has decieded that we should buy it from overseas and help the drill and built to sell it to us look at the money given (commited) to brazil alone.

I am conservative, and i love renewable energy.
some politians talk a lot of money from oil companies.
i don’t aproach renewable energy like it is bad. i do believe that hydrogen is a pipedream.
yes i have two solar panels, and want more. -… ….
